The Different Types Of Fastener Materials

Aluminium is a soft, light metal that is resistant to corrosion. Aluminium, like stainless steel, has an inherent corrosion resistance. As a result, scratches and nicks have no effect on corrosion resistance.

Aluminium alloys with manganese, silicon, iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, and silicon added to increase strength and melting point are used to make fasteners. Rivets are frequently made from 5000-series aluminium alloys, which use magnesium as the primary alloying element.

5. Copper
